Oct 18. 2017

On 16th October, 2016 State Secretary at Ministry of Economy Milun Trivunac and Assistant Minister for investments in infrastructural projects Biljana Žarković visited the company Tigar A.D. and met the CEO Branislav Čurić.

During the visit Trivunac emphasized that Tigar a.d. is a stable company and that it proved the most important – that it is able to operate in the market.

‘The very fact that by the Conclusion as of 13th September this year the Government of the Republic of Serbia decided and recommended that the tax authorities, Deposit Insurance Agency and other creditors under state control convert their claims into capital, is the best proof that the Republic of Serbia and the Government believe in this company and thus continue to support Tigar’ said Trivunac, reminding that after the conversion the state of Serbia will become the majority owner of Tigar.

Tigar’s CEO Branislav Čurić thanked the Government for its decision on conversion of debt into equity.

‘I am glad that the state has recognized the company’s effort in the last four years, this is a phase envisaged by the Prepackaged Plan of Reorganization (PPoR), the turning point of the company’s stabilization. I hope that this will be a good signal for the shareholders, creditors and workers ’, said Čurić.

After the meeting with the management of the company State Secretary Milan Trivunac and Assistant Minister for investments in infrastructural projects Biljana Žarković toured the newly built facility for production of rubber compound.

Afterwards the delegation visited Free Zone Pirot and was familiarized with the zone’s potential as well as with the status of the project of the Logistics center Pirot.
